Polka Dot Dot Dot!

If Marc Jacobs and Diane Von Furstenberg deck their models with polka dot dresses, then you know it's a trend. Both designers showed us that the polka dot is becoming less cutesy and more chic. Personally, this look is a little too Alice in Wonderland for my taste, but I can definitely see ways in which the look can be incorporated.
When winter comes in Chicago-land, it brings bitter winds and sub-zero temperatures, meaning I'm less likely to bare my legs without some kind of protection. But I love the idea of purchasing some polka dot tights to go under some of my skirts that I bought for fall.

I love the way this girl has managed to incorporate the trend into her casual look. This is definitely something I would wear, and might replicate :)

By the way, I have OPI's Dating a Royal on my fingers right now, and I have to say, it is the most wonderful navy blue color. It's a tad streaky to apply, and it almost takes 3 solid coats to get the full payoff, but I love the color so much that it's worth it. It's almost a bright navy blue. Really gorgeous! I'm not really ready to let go of my summer colors just yet, and I think this is a nice transition into the darker blues, blacks, and greens I'm going to be wearing all fall and winter. And honestly, I love the name. I'm one of those people who is absolutely bananas over the whole royal wedding bit, and for some reason this nail color just makes me happy looking at it.

Boots boots boots...

When it comes to cute boots, I'm like an alcoholic walking into a bar. It's bad news. I'm absolutely obsessed with these 7 for All Mankind Madelyn Peep toe boots, and I definitely think they will be on my wish list for fall and winter. These are perfect because you can dress them up for just wear them to class with jeggings, and you'll definitely be noticed. With the leather laces and suede upper half, the shoes are made to last, but with a price of $298, I might just have to search for a cute look-a-like!

Now the boot that seems to be everywhere this season is the Jeffrey Campbell Lita boot. Personally when I first saw it, I thought it was ugly. The ratio of it seemed a little off to me, like there was too much going on at the bottom and not enough on the top. And it comes in all these crazy patterns too. Stars and stripes, leopard print and red leather, snakeskin, but nothing really made it look better. Until one day I was walking around in burbs of Chicago, and I noticed this girl wearing these adorable boots...

With the outfit they somehow just fit and looked perfect. Now I think these "ugly" boots are actually growing on me. Well played Mr. Campbell, well played.

Chanel teaches us how to do Denim.

As usual, Karl Lagerfeld shows the world how to make utilitarian denim look classic and chic by mixing a distressed indigo jacket over a wool coat. Only Chanel. Paired with alligator combat boots, this model is everything I want to be this fall.
I have an infatuation with the color indigo, and I'm extremely happy that it's the "it" color for fall. I'll definitely be sporting it on my nails, toenails, clothes, accessories.....
Love this girl's style. She's a pretty famous model and Chanel muse Freja Beha Erichsen. She pretty much always wears all black, including skinny jeans, leather jacket and combat boots. It's refreshingly simple yet cool, and it reminds me that you can look chic wearing nothing too fancy.
